Supreme Court decides on Reverend King's fate today

The fate of Senior Pastor of the Christian Praying Assembly, Lagos, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo aka Reverend King, will be known today February 26th, as the Supreme Court would decide whether he should be hanged for murder or spend a few more years in jail.

Reverend King was charged to court by the Lagos state government on September 26th 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder of one of his members, Ann Uzoh on August 2nd 2006.

Justice Joseph Oyewole of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja had on January 11th 2007 sentenced him to death by hanging for the murder of Ann Uzoh. The controversial pastor approached the Lagos state Court of Appeal but his appeal was thrown out and the High courts verdict upheld.

Dissatisfied with the Court of Appeals verdict, Reverend King approached the Supreme court, asking for the verdict to be upturned. The Apex court is expected to give its ruling this morning.

YOUR LIFE VS PEOPLE'S EXPECTATIONS

Often times, we live our lives caring what people think, whether we are happy or not is besides the point, in this case what people perceive us to be is all that matters. We give people the power to be the set standard for our happiness. Then we tend to live a very miserable life, sad, fake and wish for better, before we know it, time flies and its too late to start over. Just like Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) said in her graduating speech in the movie amazing spider man2, ''I know we all think that we are immortal, we are supposed to feel that way, what makes life valuable is that it doesn't last forever,  what makes it precious is that it ends, I know that now more than ever. And i say it, today of all days, to remind us that time is luck so don't waste it living someone else's life, Make yours' count for something, fight for what matters to you. No matter what, because even if we fall short, what better way is there to live?'' Don't give people such amount of power over your life, it doesn't mean no one can influence your decisions or correct them, rather you would be you own person, with the knowledge of wrong and right, living life the right way and choose what to accept and what to simply ignore. Frankly speaking, none other than God should dictate our set standard of life, of which he already did in the bible. Every commandment and instructions is for our benefits and not ''His''.
Remember the saying, ''what you allow/permit is what will continue'', don't allow the world make you feel bad or less of a human because of your weight, height, mannerisms, etc. I believe that anyone fatter than me is too fat, anyone slimmer than me is too slim, anyone taller than me is too tall, anyone shorter than me is a minion sef, anyone with a fairer skin than me is way too fair, and anyone darker has way too much melanin. Now do i go around telling them that? NO. But the confidence that  i'm simply perfect and flawless in my own skin makes me feel unbothered about anyone's insults or ''fake concern''. This also doesn't mean i wont change any bad or negative thing i can about myself. Finally another saying goes thus, ''test your sincerity''. Are you sincere with yourself, even if you lie to everyone, would u lead your very own self to believe the lie too? Life is way too short to be anything but real, trust me. Death is not planned, it just happens and that ends it, every dream, hope, lies, pain, happiness etc. Everything becomes void. It's like you were never even here, oblivion is inevitable, The measure of life you live depends more on the lives you affected, lives you touched, people you made happy, people you saddened likewise. Live your life, love, laugh, and start the cycle all over again. B
